How the math works
- Discount= flat $ + (subtotal × %). Capped at the subtotal so the discounted subtotal can't go negative.
- Fees = delivery + service when mode is delivery, $0 when pickup.
- Tax = (discounted subtotal + fees) × tax%, plus any flat tax you enter.
- Tip = discounted subtotal × tip%, plus any flat tip. Most apps tip on the pre-fee, pre-tax amount.
- Delivery premium shows the difference between a delivery option and its matching pickup option (by label).
Different restaurants apply tax and tip differently. Use the displayed total in your actual cart as the source of truth.

- Why is my total still off by a few cents?
- Brands round each line item differently and some apply tax to a slightly different base. Use this calculator to compare the SHAPE of the two costs, not to predict the exact penny.
